The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT)
The Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) is a proven therapy aimed at improving voice and speech for individuals with Parkinson’s. Known as “Big and Loud,” this therapy focuses on amplifying voice projection and enhancing movement. Led by a certified LSVT speech pathologist, the program uses breathing techniques, voice projection, loudness drills, and speech pacing to restore communication skills and improve quality of life.
Rock Steady Boxing
Rock Steady Boxing classes are designed for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. These classes, offered three times a week at the Wellness Center located on the Presbyterian campus, focus on stretching, footwork, and punching movements to help manage symptoms like tremors and mobility issues. William and Rita Abraham Parkinson Speaker Series
In memory of his wife Rita, William (Bill) Abraham established the William and Rita Abraham Parkinson Speaker Series, in collaboration with the Presbyterian Homes Foundation. This educational program provides valuable information on topics like diet, exercise, and the latest developments in Parkinson’s Care, supporting both patients and their families. Speakers are scheduled multiple times throughout the year and attendance is free to the community.
